Report: Wal-Mart employee steals 'her money' back

A Wal-Mart cashier was arrested for giving her husband a discount of $91, and allegedly told managers that she did so because the company owed her money for breaking a watch she had brought in to have repaired.

The Hahnville Hi-Steppers will be extra busy this summer as they prepare for the fall. The St. Charles Women’s Club recently held its annual disbursements and installation reception at the St. Charles Parish Schools Satellite Center in Luling. The non-profit civic and social organization in existence since 1966 raises money each year to distribute back into the community of St. Charles Parish. Holding to its motto, “Making a Difference,” the club was able to give over $20,000 this year. A local youth ministry is taking a stance against abortion, and speaking out against violent anti-abortion protests, with a one-two punch through their “KOA: Knock Out Abortion” mission. The Hahnville Hi-Steppers Parents Club is raising funds to help pay for the dance team's trip to perform in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade this November. It’s that time of year, the time when Little League teams across the region face off in season-ending tournaments, hopeful to stay on top and represent St. Charles Parish. LA Crusher's went undefeated to win the ASA 28th Annual Louisiana Magic Fast Pitch Softball Tournament, May 30 and 31.
Nine LSU AgCenter educators recently won top honors for their home-buyer education program at the Louisiana Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences annual meeting. The Louisiana House Ways and Means Committee passed House Bill 889 on June 8, putting the St. Charles Community Health Center one step closer to its dream of providing the parish with school-based wellness centers. “Wonder What’s Out There” by Ann Allman got the most votes last week and is the May 28 weekly winner in the St. Charles Herald-Guide’s Camera Shootout 2009 photo contest. Residential property taxes not out of line

One of the most controversial proposals that will be debated in the upcoming legislative session will be attempts to increase Louisiana’s homestead exemption for residential property taxes. The only legitimate reason for doing this would be if residential property taxes in the state were out of line. I would like to forward some evidence confirming that is not the case.
